Sebelum perkuliahan dengan dosen dari Cranfield university mulai tanggal 28 agustus 2006 lalu, perwakilan dari Cranfield University, Ivar Hallberg –Executive Director The Resillience Centre, Defence Academy- menjelaskan beberapa hal ke angkatanku berkaitan perkuliaha di jurusan ini, misalnya :

Aim of the degree :
“To equip civilian and uniformed personnel with the knowledge and skills appropriate for effective management of resources in the defence and wider security sector”

Learning Objective:
“To provide a critical understanding of the concepts and tools relevant to the analysis of the defence and security sector and to its effective management”.

Competency Outcome :
“To generate staff who are able to manage people, money, information and technology in support of national security and defence within context of the public interest by building appropriate analytic, organizational, and interpersonal skills”.
